''6 <br /> <br />a~d1{Z< <br /> <br />CI Y MANAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and the <br />Clerk of the Council to execute an amended agreement with General Learning <br />Climates, Inc. to include additional consulting and training services in <br />an amount not to exceed $40,000. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Police Department entered into an agreement with General Learning <br />Climates, Inc. (GLC) to assist the department with team building, <br />organizational development and goal setting sessions for managers and <br />staff. In addition, GLC provides evaluations of the department's Community <br />Oriented Policing strategies. During the course of this review, we have <br />identified several ini tiati ves for improvement. These ini tiati ves will <br />create an opportunity to effectuate departmental improvements and address <br />key issues related to enhancing operational effectiveness. Staff <br />recommends amending the current agreement to include services that will <br />further strengthen the department's organizational structure by enhancing <br />quality implementation, internal systems, and communications. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br /> <br />Funds are available in the Police Department's Office of the Chief <br />Contractual Services Account (account no. 011-331-6291). <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br /> <br />: ) ( \\ ~ <br />J L ~V"L \, '-- '-.J. <br />Paul M.
