The agreement provides on-site medical staff 24 hours a day, in
addition to a doctor on call. CMCMC conducts daily sick calls, dispenses
medication, as well as assists in the intake of incoming inmates to assess
for entrance acceptability. Addi tional services such as dental care,
radiology, ophthalmology, OB/Gyn, psychiatric crisis intervention and
emergency medical billing services are also included. These medical
services are required and governed by State law, under the California
Department of Corrections Title 15 requirements.

Over the past few years, the agreement has been amended on an annual basis.
The Santa Ana Jail initiated a Request For Proposal process in June 2001
and CMCMC was the only qualified vendor to submit a proposal. Most other
jails in Southern California have in-house medical staff to provide these
services. Madera County, CA is the only other jurisdiction to contract out
for inmate medical services within the past year. Their recent bidding
process resulted in CMCMC as the only qualified vendor.

251-1
