MINUTES OF ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br /> OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />April 10, 1973 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:07 P.M., in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Hall, 22 Civic Center Plaza, with the <br />following Councilmen present: Ray Villa, Vernon S. Evans, <br />Lorin Griset, Harry K. Yamamoto, Jerry M. Patterson, J. Ogden <br />Markel, and Mayor Wade Herrin. Also present were City Manager <br />Bruce C. Spragg, City Attorney James A. Withers, and Clerk of <br />the Council Florence I. Malone. <br /> <br />CERTIFICATION OF CANVASS <br />OF ELECTION <br /> <br />which was completed on April <br />election results as follows: <br /> <br /> The Clerk of the Council <br /> presented the Certificate <br /> of Canvass of Election <br />6, 1973, confirming unofficial <br /> <br />Councilman Jerry M. Patterson elected, representing Ward 1. <br />Councilman James E. Ward elected, representing Ward 3. <br />Councilman John Garthe elected, representing Ward 5. <br />Councilman Harry K. Yamamoto, representing Ward 7. <br />Proposition A failed to carry on the following vote count: <br /> <br /> YES = 3,443 <br /> NO = 8,381 <br /> <br />Total number of ballots cast was 13,449, representing <br />23% of the registered voters. <br /> <br />RES. 73-33 RESOLUTION 73-33 STATING <br />GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION AND DECLARING THE RESULT <br /> OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL <br />ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, ON APRIL 3, <br />1973 was adopted on motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by <br />Councilman Yamamoto, and unanimously carried. (CA 68) <br /> <br />RES. 73-37 RESOLUTION 73-37 - SPECIAL <br />FORMER MAYOR LORIN GRISET RESOLUTION COMMENDING <br /> FORMER MAYOR LORIN GRISET <br />was read in full by Mayor Herrin, and was adopted on motion of <br />Councilman Patterson, seconded by Councilman Yamamoto, and <br />unanimously carried. (CA73 B) <br /> <br />INSTALLATION OF NEWLY The Clerk of the Council <br />ELECTED COUNCILMEN administered the oath of <br /> office and presented <br />Certificates of Election to newly elected Councilmen Patterson, <br />Ward, Garthe, and Yamamoto.
