Commission report dated May 16, 1973, and instructed staff to <br />forward those recommendations to the Local Agency Formation <br />Commission, on motion of Councilman Evans, seconded by <br />Councilman Garthe, and unanimously carried on a 6 - 0 vote. <br /> <br />The report set forth the Planning Commission's recommendation <br />that ten (Areas 4 - 13, inclusive) of the fifteen unincorporated <br />areas included in the Sphere of Influence Study may be included <br />in the City's Sphere of Influence. <br /> <br />A staff report dated May 17, 1973, on the rationale as to why <br />the U.S. Marine Corps Air Station (Helicopter, Area 1) should <br />be in the Sphere of Influence of the City was distributed to <br />Council. (CA 78.4) <br /> <br />CENTRAL COMMUNITY CENTER Council considered the <br /> report of the City <br /> Manager dated May 14, <br />1973, relating to the relocation of the Central Community <br />Center. <br /> <br />Councilman Evans' motion to: <br /> <br />1. Authorize staff to allow the expiration of the option to <br /> renew the lease for 1212 South Bristol Street; <br /> <br />2. Direct staff to notify lessor prior to June 1, 1973, of <br /> the City's intent; and <br /> <br />3. Authorize staff to implement and execute the move of <br /> Central Center to 2215 West McFadden; <br /> <br />was seconded by Councilman Yamamoto, and unanimously approved <br />on a 6 - 0 vote. (CA 131.6) <br /> <br />UNDERGROUND UTILITY Council considered the <br />DISTRICT NO. 6 report of the Director <br /> of Public Works dated <br />May 16, 1973, setting forth the necessity of a public hearing <br />before proceeding with the establishment of an underground <br />utility district along 17th Street in front of Santa Aha <br />College. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Evans, seconded by Councilman Garthe, <br />and unanimously carried on a 6 0 vote, Council set a public <br />hearing for June 4, 1973, at 7:30 P.M., in accordance with <br />Section 37-2 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code, for the purpose <br />of ascertaining the necessity of converting the existing over- <br />head utility system to an underground system within the area <br />generally defined as bordering 17th Street from College <br />Avenue to Bristol Street, more particularly described on the <br />drawing attached to the report. (CA 134) <br /> <br />EX 73-12 Minor Exception 73-12, <br />CHARLES LINGER filed by Charles Linger, <br /> to allow expansion of a <br />legal non-conforming bar within 300' of a residential district <br />in the C 1 District at 327 East 17th Street, recommended for <br />approval by the Planning Commission, was received and filed on <br />motion of Councilman Evans, seconded by Councilman Garthe, <br />and carried on a 5 - 1 vote, with Councilman Yamamoto dissent- <br />ing.
