Raitt, On Sale Beer (Dropping <br />Partner), Person to Person Transfer. (CA 146) <br /> <br />VA 73-21 Variance Application 73-21 <br />JAMES A. CARTER filed by James A. Carter, to <br /> construct a two-story garden <br /> apartment with 56 units in <br />the R 2 and A 1 Districts at 517 South Newhope Street, recommended <br />for approval by the Planning Commission, was received and filed <br />on motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Evans, <br />and unanimously carried. (CA 13) <br /> <br />VA 73-23 Variance Application 73-23 <br />SHELL OIL COMPANY filed by Shell Oil Company, <br /> to install a 5' x 5' roof- <br /> top sign in addition to an <br />existing pole sign on the same parcel in the C 2 District at 224 <br />East First Street, recommended for approval by the Planning Com- <br />mission, was received and filed on motion of Councilman Evans, <br />seconded by Councilman Griset, and carried with Councilmen Markel <br />and Yamamoto dissenting. (CA 13) <br /> <br />VA 73-26 Variance Application 73-26 <br />ORANGE VILLA BIBLE CHURCH filed by Orange Villa Bible <br /> Church, to establish a Boys <br /> Republic Facility pzoviding <br />treatment and room and board for a maximum of twenty~five <br />adolescent boys in the R 3 HB & P Districts at 206 and 220 West <br />15th Street, recommended for approval by the Planning Commission, <br />was set for public hearing on August 6, 1973, on motion of Council- <br />man Evans, seconded by Councilman Garthe, and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />Prior to the motion, Mr. Harlan Anderson, representing the Santa <br />Aha Unified School District, asked that the matter Be delayed <br />to give them the opportunity to determine what effect the facility <br />would have upon the schools. <br /> <br />During Council discussion, the consensus was that mo~e information <br />was needed including opinions from residents. Councilman Evans <br />stated that he would like to have a report from the Police Chief. <br /> (CA 13. ~) <br /> <br />CUP 73-5 Conditional Use Permit 73-5 <br />NEWPORT EQUITIES TRUST filed by Newport Equities <br /> Trust, to construct a <br /> planned residential develop- <br />ment (106 unit condominium) in the R 2-PRD District at 5020 <br />West First Street, recommended for approval By the Planning <br />Commission, was received and filed on motion of Councilman <br />Evans, seconded by Councilman Yamamoto, and unanimously carried. <br /> (CA 13.1) <br /> <br />TENTATIVE TRACT MAP #8203 Councilman Griset's motion <br />W. L. BUILDERS CORP. to reconsider Tentative <br /> Tract Map #8203, which had <br /> been approved with the <br />Consent Calendar as Agenda item 10 B, was seconded By Councilman <br />Ward, and carried with Councilman Evans dissenting.
