The Bowers Museum was discussed and the consensus was that staff <br />and Council should seek broader-based financial support from the <br />entire County for the Museum. <br /> <br />The Director of Building Safety and Housing, the Fire <br />the Police Chief provided Council with oral summaries <br />budgets, and responded to specific questions. <br /> <br />Chief and <br />of their <br /> <br />Councilman Ward initiated a discussion relative to the City's <br />traffic fatalities and accidents which culminated in a Council <br />request to maximize utilization of the Traffic Division of the <br />Police Department to alleviate the City's traffic problems. <br /> <br />During discussion of the budget for the Department of Public <br />Works, the City Manager stated that if the refuse collection <br />service is to remain self-supporting a 15 per cent increase will <br />be necessary. The Council consensus was to direct staff to <br />present its recommendation for Council action as soon as possible. <br /> <br />Council continued its review and discussion of the budget through <br />page 59. Consideration of page 47, relative to the Arterial <br />Street Program, was deferred to the next budget session to allow <br />for a presentation on the matter by the Director of Public Works. <br /> <br />KNAPP REAPPORTIONMENT Inclusion, on the July 2 <br />PLAN Agenda, of the "Factual <br /> Date Sheet" from Knapp <br /> Reapportionment Plan, Menlo <br />Park, describing the Knapp Congressional Reapportionment Plan, <br />was requested by informal Council agreement.
