NO. 03-078) <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />/JAu <br />!ft~{f!6L<~i~ <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Renew the contracts for ammunition for a one-year period in a total <br />aggregate amount not to exceed $62,397 with: <br /> <br />Adamson Industries <br />Dooley Enterprises, Inc. <br />San Diego Police Equipment Co., Inc. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Santa Ana Police Department provides ammunition to its sworn <br />officers, primarily for use during training and range qualification <br />testing. Officers are required to re-qualify regularly to maintain <br />proficiency in the use of firearms. The contracts for ammunition are <br />designed to provide quality products at significant savings based on <br />quantity pricing. <br /> <br />On November 3, 2003, the City Council awarded contracts to Adamson <br />Industries, Dooley Enterprises, Inc., and San Diego Police Equipment <br />Co., Inc. for a one-year period, with provision for two one-year <br />renewals. The vendors have agreed to the first renewal option to the <br />contracts, have not requested price increases, and have performed <br />satisfactorily during the past contract period.
