CONSENT CALENDAR - Continued <br /> <br />CHANGE ORDERS <br /> <br />Approved the following <br />Change Orders: <br /> <br />PROJECT T-145 - Bristol Street and MacArthur <br />Boulevard; Euclid Street and McFadden Avenue; <br />17th Street and Lincoln Avenue; increasing <br />in the amount of $837.02; Change Order No. 1. <br />(CA 89) <br /> <br />* * * * ~ * * ~ CONSENT CALENDAR FINIS * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />BID CALL A motion was made by <br />PROJECT 1346 A Councilman Griset, <br /> seconded by Councilman <br /> Evans to approve plans <br />and specifications and authorize advertisement for bids on the <br />following: <br /> <br />PROJECT 1346 A - Construct parking lot on <br />southeast corner of Civic Center Drive and <br />Sycamore Street (Old County Jail site); <br />opening date, September 11, 1973, 2:00 P.M.. <br /> <br />Following Council discussion of Civic Center parking problems, <br />the motion was amended by Councilman Griset, with the concurrence <br />of Councilman Evans, to include a letter from Council to the <br />Civic Center Commission suggesting that public use of the parking <br />lot be included in the over all Civic Center Parking Plan. The <br />amended motion carried on a 5 1 vote, with Councilman Markel <br />dissenting. (CA 89) <br /> <br />BID CALL On motion of Councilman <br />PROJECT 8018 Evans, seconded by Council- <br /> man Yamamoto, and unani- <br /> mously approved on a <br />6 - 0 vote, the plans and specifications, and authorized <br />advertisement for bids on the following: <br /> <br />PROJECT 8018 - Construct Jackson Street Park; <br />opening date, September 11, 1973, 2:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Prior to voting, Council discussed deletion of the restroom <br />facility. <br /> <br />Councilman Ward stated that Jackson Park is very small; that <br />it is located within a small neighborhood walking radius, and <br />restrooms are not needed; that park restrooms are misused. <br /> <br />Mayor Patterson stated that restrooms are needed in every park. <br /> <br />In response to Mayor Patterson's request for a rough cost figure, <br />the City Manager estimated that the Jackson Park restroom building <br />would cost about $7,000. <br /> <br />Councilman Ward's motion to amend the main motion, to delete the <br />restroom building from Jackson Park, was seconded by Councilman <br />Griset, and failed to carry on the following vote: <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 282 AUGUST 6, 1973 <br /> <br /> <br />
