On September 24, 2001, California initiated the creation of a medium <br />for the sharing of information related to terrorist activities with all state <br />law enforcement agencies <br />. CATIC was created on September 25,2001 <br />. CA TIC priorities: consolidation of information resources; sound <br />analytical capability; dynamic information sharing; close coordination of <br />efforts <br />. CATIC organization: Task Forces; Situation Unit; Group Analysis Unit; <br />Intelligence Watch Centers <br />. Task Forces - regional liaison and coordination of intelligence, <br />investigations and provide investigative support to investigators at all <br />levels <br />. Ensure information is shared with FBI Joint Terrorism Task Forces <br />. Provide investigative assistance <br />. Ensure information is referred to Situation Unit for statewide <br />coordination <br />. Situation Unit - Directs tactical intelligence support to Task Forces and <br />other law enforcement agencies; coordinates allied agency <br />information; issues advisories, assessments, and summary reports; <br />monitors news media and online resources <br />. Orange County CA TIC Task Force participants: California Department <br />of Justice; Santa Ana Police Department; California Highway Patrol; <br />O.C. District Attorney; O.C. Sheriff's Department; Department of <br />Justice - Crime Analyst <br />. Jointly supervised by a Santa Ana Police department Sergeant and a <br />Supervisory Agent from the Department of Justice <br />.
