(CA 146) <br /> <br />ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE On motion of Councilman <br />LICENSE APPLICATION Yamamoto, seconded by <br />J. R. MC INTOSH Councilman Markel, and <br /> carried on a 4 2 vote, <br />with Councilmen Ward and Garthe dissenting, Council instructed <br />the City Attorney to file a protest with the Alcoholic Beverage <br />Control Board on the following application because the location <br />is within 300 feet of a residential zone and is therefore subject <br />to the Minor Exception procedure: <br /> <br />MC INTOSH, J. R., 3811 <br />Beer & Wine (Bona Fide <br />Original. (CA 146) <br /> <br />South Bristol, On Sale <br />Public Eating Place), <br /> <br />VA. 73-38 It was moved by Councilman <br />FRANCISCAN MISSIONARY Griset, seconded by Council- <br />SISTERS man Garthe, that the recom- <br /> mendation of the Planning <br />Commission to approve the following Variance Application be <br />received and filed: <br /> <br />VA 73-38, FRANCISCAN MISSIONARY SISTERS OF THE <br />IMMACULATE CONCEPTION - To construct additional <br />facilities in an existing home for senior citizens <br />in the R 2 and C 1 zones waiving the required <br />parking, at 1721 West 5th Street; APPROVED. <br /> <br />A substitute motion by Councilman Ward, seconded by Councilman <br />Yamamoto, to continue the matter to the September 17, 1973 <br />meeting, failed to carry on the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Ward, Yamamoto <br /> <br />NOES: Griset, Evans, Garthe, Markel <br /> <br />ABSENT: Patterson <br /> <br />The original motion carried on the following tie vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Griset, Garthe, Markel <br /> <br />NOES: Ward, Evans, Yamamoto <br /> <br />ABSENT: Patterson <br /> <br />The consensus of the Councilmen opposed was that the proposed <br />parking was inadequate; those in favor stated that the parking <br />appeared to be adequate for the type of facility.
