Councilman Griset expressed concern over the length of time it <br />was taking for an agreement to be reached over the additional <br />authority to be given to the Civic Center Commission. <br /> <br />Mayor Patterson requested staff to present a report within 30 <br />days outlining a parking policy for the Civic Center. <br /> <br />(Referral Nos. 33 and 67 to be retained on the Council Referral <br />List, with a report due December, 1974.) <br /> <br />SPECIAL RECOGNITION The Mayor introduced students <br />SANTA ANA HIGH SCHOOL and their teacher, Mr. Neal <br /> Machander, from Santa Ana <br /> High School participating <br />in Field Study for an American Government Class. <br /> <br />SUMMARY OF COUNCIL <br />REFERRALS (CONTINUED) <br /> <br />REFERRAL NO. 40 - PROPOSED <br />WELL ORUINANCE <br /> <br />Council informally received <br />and filed the interim report <br />of the Director of Public <br />Works dated September 12, 1973. The City Manager's report on the <br />Summary of Council referrals indicated that a complete report and <br />recommendation would be coming to Council on November S, 1973. <br /> <br />REFERRAL NO. 42 - USE OF <br />MUNICIPAL STADIUM <br /> <br />Council informally received <br />and filed the following <br />relating to proposed uses <br />for the Municipal Stadium: Letter from the Chairman of the Board <br />of Recreation and Parks dated September 11, 1973; a letter from <br />H. L. Farmen dated September 6, 1973; and a copy of the Minutes <br />of the September 24 meeting of the Board of Recreation and Parks. <br /> <br />Council informally agreed that it would not be advisable to open <br />a noon-time snack bar concession at the Municipal Bowl; however, <br />that the installation of picnic tables and benches on the grassy <br />plots would be a good idea; and instructed staff to continue to <br />explore possibilities relating to the better use of existing <br />facilities; and deleted the item from the Summary of Council Referrals. <br /> <br />REFERRAL NO. 47 - SIGN <br /> <br />ORDINANCE REPORT <br /> <br />1973, relating <br />entertainment, <br />Referrals. <br /> <br />Council informally received and <br />filed the report of the City <br />Attorney dated September 10, <br />to signs affixed to establishments advertising nude <br />and deleted the item from the Summary of Council <br /> <br />REFERRAL NO. 51 - WHEELCHAIR <br /> <br />BASKETBALL <br /> <br />Council informally received <br />and filed the report of the <br />Assistant City Manager dated <br />September 13, 1973, regarding assistance to a wheelchair basketball <br />team in seeking local sponsorship, and deleted the item from the <br />Summary of Council referrals. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />368 OCTOBER 15, 1973 <br /> <br /> <br />
