<br />8 <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004-077 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR <br />OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY TO <br />EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS TO ACCEPT <br />AND IMPLEMENT THE FY 2004-05 WEED AND SEED <br />GRANT FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF <br />JUSTICE. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and <br />declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />The City of Santa Ana has been selected to receive a grant from the <br />United States Department of Justice, in the amount of $450,000.00, for the <br />2004-05 funding year. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />The Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act provides funds for the <br />Weed and Seed Grants Program. This is the fifth year the grant funds <br />have been allocated to the S.A.I.N.T. Program, in the amount of <br />$225,000.00 and the S.P.I.R.I.T. Program, in the amount of $225,000.00. <br /> <br />C. <br /> <br />During the 2004-2005 fiscal year, Weed and Seed Grant funding will be <br />utilized to continue to provide services in the areas of law enforcement, <br />community policing, prevention, intervention and treatment, and <br />neighborhood restoration. <br /> <br />Section 2. The City Council authorizes the Executive Director of the Community <br />Development Agency to execute all necessary documents to implement the 2004 Weed <br />and Seed Grant Continuation Agreement, accept grant funding in the amount of <br />$450,000.00 and appropriate $225,000.00 to the S.A.I.N. T. Program and $225,000.00 <br />to the S.P.I.R.I.T. Program. <br /> <br />Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by <br />the City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting <br />this Resolution. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 4th day of October, 2004. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2004-077 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
