APPEAL #334 On motion of Councilman <br />SOUTHSIDE INVESTMENT COMPANY Evans, seconded by <br />CUP 73-15 Councilman Garthe, Council <br /> voted unanimously to <br />continue Appeal #334, filed by Southside Investment <br />Co. appealing the Planning Commission's denial of CUP 73-15, <br />to allow retail sales in the M 1 District at 1700-1730 S. <br />Grand Avenue, to the January 21, 1974 Council meeting. (CA 13.4) <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION Billy Hall, Executive <br />DOWNTOWN PARKING LOTS Director of the City <br /> Center Association, <br /> requested that Council <br />consider the establishment of controls for the operation <br />of parking lots in the downtown area which would be fair to <br />both user and operator. <br /> <br />Councilman Garthe stated that illegal parking adjacent to red- <br />zoned curbing in shopping centers is very prevalent and <br />suggested measures be taken to discourage this practice and to <br />enforce the traffic laws in this respect. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Evans, seconded by Councilman Ward <br />and unanimously carried, Council referred both matters to <br />staff for report and recommendation. (CA 82.8) <br /> <br />READING WAIVED The full reading of <br /> ordinances and resolutions, <br /> the titles of which <br /> appeared on the public <br />agenda, was waived on the unanimously approved motion of <br />Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Ward. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NS-1192 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY <br />MASSAGE ESTABLISF~IENTS COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SANTA ANA AMENDING SECTION <br /> 2z-s (c), (d) (k) OF <br />CHAPTER 22 OF THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE INVOLVING MASSAGE <br />ESTABLISHMENTS was placed on first reading on the unanimously <br />carried motion Of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman <br />Evans. (CA 91.5) <br /> <br />RES. 73-120 A RESOLUTION OF THE <br />CONDEMNATION CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />OF REAL PROPERTY CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> AUTHORIZING CONDEMNATION <br />OF REAL PROPERTY FOR EXTENDING CIVIC CENTER DRIVE was adopted <br />on motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Evans, <br />and carried on the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Griset, Evans, Ward, Patterson, Yamamoto, Garthe, <br /> Markel <br /> <br />NOES: None <br /> <br />ABSENT: None (CA 71; CA 155) <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 459 DECEMBER 10, 1973 <br /> <br /> <br />
