CITY OF SANA ANA <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT <br />Scope of Work <br />Annual Accomplishment Goal <br />Total number of clients anticipated to be served during the 12 -month contract period= <br />75 PERSONS <br />II. Total number of unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served with grant funds during the <br />12 -month contract period = 75 PERSONS <br />III. Description of Work - in space below, describe the program to be funded during the 12- <br />month contract period including, services to be provided, program goals, client <br />characteristics, & how grant funds will be utilized. <br />The primary goals and objectives of the Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy are rooted in the <br />basic tenets of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority: Sisterhood, Scholarship, and Service. Sisterhood <br />will be found in the fact that the Academy will be provided for 50 or more, low to moderate <br />income, at -risk African American & other minority girls from the ages of I 1 — 14 and their <br />mothers by the women of the sorority. Scholarship will manifest itself in the fact that the <br />primary focus will be on encouraging the girls to study and ultimately pursue careers in math, <br />science, technology, and financial stability. Service will be incorporated in the program by <br />assisting the girls to identify service opportunities that will support the community and prepare <br />them for a career.
