CITY OF SANA ANA <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT <br />Scope of Work <br />Annual Accomplishment Goal <br />I. Total number of clients anticipated to be served during the 12 -month contract period- <br />178 PERSONS <br />II. Total number of unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served with grant funds during the <br />12 -month contract period = 45 PERSONS <br />III. Description of Work - in space below, describe the program to be funded during the 12- <br />month contract period including, services to be provided, program goals, client <br />characteristics, & how grant funds will be utilized. <br />The Infant Family Focus provides direct services in the home of our clients — in Spanish for our Spanish <br />speaking families. The program director provides direct services and over -sees the entire program. Two <br />of our infant specialists are bilingual. The infant specialist work with mom — sometimes dad and grandma <br />or another caregiver in helping them to understand how they can help in their baby's development. <br />Lending emotional support and teaching parents very practical skills and modeling behaviors are the <br />major goals of this programs. Parents are encouraged to reach out to other parents in building <br />relationships to help them feel less alone. The goal of this program is to help the baby reach his/her <br />potential and transition into the preschool or other appropriate program. <br />Counseling is offered to all families to help with their grief and cope with the stress of raising a child with <br />special needs. Each year parenting classes are taught in both English and Spanish. Children receive play <br />therapy to help them grow up with a healthy self- esteem. Teenagers have the opportunity to participate in <br />a program to help them improve social skills, build self - esteem and become independent.
