SENATE BILL 2747 On the unanimously <br />MINIMUM WAGE LEGISLATION carried motion of Council- <br /> man Griset, seconded by <br /> Councilman Garthe, Council <br />instructed the Clerk to forward a letter to City's representa- <br />tives in the Senate and House expressing strong opposition <br />and requesting their "No" vote on Senate Bill 2747 - Minimum <br />Wage Legislation, including reduced work week for firefighters, <br />as recommended in the Fire Chief's Report dated January 15, <br />i974. (CA SO) <br /> <br />SISTER CITY PROGRAM Council instructed the <br />KORIYAMA, JAPAN Clerk to forward a <br /> letter to Koriyama <br /> intermediary declining <br />sister city affiliation, as recommended in the Report from <br />the City Manager dated January 8, 1974, on the unanimously <br />carried motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman <br />Evans. (CA 67) <br /> <br />ORANGE COUNTY TRANSIT DISTRICT The City Council accepted <br />ALTERNATIVE TRANSIT the recommendation of the <br />CORRIDOR STUDY City's Transportation <br /> Advisory Committee to <br />support in concept Orange County Transit District Alternative <br />Plan Number T2E (Sketch 9), with proposed staff modifications, <br />and in addition thereto, to recommend to the Orange County <br />Transit District the inclusion of a supplemental corridor <br />serving the high traffic generators located in the southerly <br />portion of Anaheim, on the unanimously approved motion of <br />Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Ward. <br /> <br />The proposed staff modifications to Orange County Transit Dis- <br />trict Alternative Plan T2E consist of a north-south corridor <br />running northerly from Huntington Beach, an east~west corridor <br />running from the City of Santa Ana in the direction of Long <br />Beach, and a loop around the southern part of the City utilizing <br />portions of the San Diego Freeway and the Newport Freeway. The <br />two corridors recommended are 1) An alignment following the old <br />Pacific Electric right-of-way from the northeast into Santa Aha, <br />thence easterly through the downtown area to the Santa Fe <br />Railroad right-of-way, thence southeasterly towards south Orange <br />County and San Diego; 2) A north-south corridor extending the <br />adopted alignment of the Orange Freeway, Route S7, southerly <br />from the Garden Grove Freeway generally along the Santa Ana <br />River to its junction with the San Diego Freeway. <br /> <br />Billy C. Hall, Executive Director of City Center Association, <br />spoke in support of the Pacific Electric right-of-way corridor <br />into downtown Santa Ana. (CA 112.2) <br /> <br />FIRE STATION NO. 4 On the unanimously <br />ACQUISITION carried motion of <br /> Councilman Griset, <br /> seconded by Councilman <br />Garthe, Council approved the recommendation for acquisition <br />of property on the northwest corner of Flower Street and <br />Glenwood Place for Fire Station No. 4, contained in the Report <br />from Planning Commission dated January 15, 1974.
