CITY OF SANA ANA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT Scope of Work Annual Accomplishment Goa/ I. Total number of clients anticipated to be served during the 12-month contract period- -35 PERSONS II. Total number of unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served with grant funds during the 12- month contract period - _35_ PERSONS 1I1. Description of Work - in space below, describe the program to be funded during the 12-month contract period including, services to be provided, program goals, client characteristics, & how grant funds will be utilized. The " Leadership In Action" program and the" Empowering Future Latino Leaders" conference is where hundreds of Orange County Latino students are invited "free of charge" to learn how they can make a positive difference by making choices now and in the future. The key elements of the "Leadership in Action" program and "Empowering Future Latino Leaders" conference are leadership skills, academic achievement with higher education, civic involvement with active participation, pride of heritage and culture, the value of diversity and the camaraderie of Latino unity. The "Leadership in Action" is a year-round program designed to support the positive development of young Latino people of Santa Ana/Orange County; to acquire the skills and competencies to be full, productive, active citizens of their communities; and, equally importantly, to learn the skills to become action -motivated leaders. The program will impact one or more of the following areas of their young lives: knowledge, attitudes, leadership skills and status. The focus of the program is also based on the "positive outcomes" in the leadership growth of: confidence, character, competence and community connection. The "Leadership in Action" program and "Empowering Future Latino Leaders" conference will conduct student -training workshops presented by educators, elected officials, community activist and corporate/business leaders. In addition, there will be career/job fair, exhibits, guest speakers and a graduation celebration, and recognition reception.
