<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />11/10/04 LES <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004-084 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND <br />THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO EXECUTE A GRANT AWARD <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF <br />TRAFFIC SAFETY <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOllOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and <br />declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />The Santa Ana Police Department has been selected to receive a grant <br />from the California Office of Traffic Safety in the amount of $53,484.00 for <br />the Sobriety Checkpoint Program for local law Enforcement Agencies. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />This grant funding will allow the Police Department's Traffic Division to <br />conduct sobriety checkpoints during a thirteen month period, with the <br />ultimate goal of reducing the number of victims injured or killed in alcohol <br />related crashes. <br /> <br />Section 2. The City Council authorizes the City Manager and the Chief of Police <br />to execute a grant award agreement with the California Office of Traffic Safety in the <br />amount of $53,484.00. <br /> <br />Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by <br />the City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting <br />this Resolution. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 15th day of November. 2004. <br /> <br /> <br />'guel A.
