<br />PRODUCTS AND EXECUTION <br /> <br />1. PRODUCTS <br /> <br />1.1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF SYSTEM <br /> <br />1.1.1. Cable plant will be an Avaya certified cabling system supporting a 20-year <br />Link Performance Warranty. All optical fiber and copper cabling installed <br />will comply with the Avaya Systimax Structured Cabling System <br />Performance Specifications document. <br /> <br />1.1.2. UTP backbone cable plant will consist of both Category 3 and Category <br />5e twisted pair cable, terminating onto 110-type blocks. Pair counts will <br />depend upon scope of work for any particular job. Cable will be installed on <br />an as-needed basis and will conform to specific requirements as set out in a <br />case-by-case basis. <br /> <br />1.1.3. Optical fiber backbone cable plant will consist of multi-mode and single- <br />mode fiber optic cable with various strand counts depending upon scope of <br />work for any particular job. Cable will be installed on an as-needed basis <br />and will conform to specific requirements as set out in a case-by-case basis. <br /> <br />1.1.4. Horizontal (work area) cable plant: <br /> <br />1. 1.4. LA typical voice/data information outlet will consist of (1), one-gang, <br />Avaya (4) port faceplate (white), two Avaya Category 5e Systimax <br />Certified data cables (blue) and two Avaya Category 5e Systimax <br />Certified voice cables (white) for the support of voice/data applications. <br />Exceptions may be made for specifically identified areas. <br /> <br />1.1.4.2.Each cable shall terminate into an 8 position, 8 conductor-type <br />modular jack, configured to EIA/TIA 5688. Data (blue) in the two upper <br />positions of the faceplate, and Voice (white) in the two lower positions <br />of the faceplate. White blank inserts will be installed in unused <br />faceplate ports. <br /> <br />1.1.4.3.Voice cables will be terminated into either existing or newly installed <br />sets of 110 blocks. Termination should be configured for EIA/TIA <br />5688. The 110 blocks used will be of the 300FT or 900FT variety, <br />dependant upon the scope of a particular project. Where needed, <br />additional wire management troughs, rings, mushrooms, etc. should be <br />installed. <br /> <br />1.1.4.4.Data cables will be terminated into either existing or newly installed <br />proportionately sized Avaya patch panels.
