CITY OF SANA ANA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT Scope of Work Annual Accomplishment Goal I. Total number of clients anticipated to be served during the 12-month contract period= 3�,975� PERSONS U. Total number of unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served with grant funds during the 12-month contract period = 2,700 PERSONS III. Description of Work - in space below, describe the program to be funded during the 12- month contract period including, services to be provided, program goals, client characteristics, & how grant funds will be utilized. Saint Joseph Ballet provides comprehensive, integrated programs --dance training, performance opportunities, academic services, college scholarships, family services, mentoring and enrichment, and community outreach —that support the educational, social, and personal growth of low-income youth and families. Our mission is to empower low-income youth from diverse backgrounds to strengthen self-esteem, self- discipline and a sense of accomplishment through dance, academic, and family programs. We intend to serve at least 288 Santa Ana youth and 200 parents with our Year -Round Programs who qualify under the "low/moderate" income criterion, and 2,212 low/moderate income Santa Ana students through our outreach program, DanceFree Weeks. Further, Saint Joseph Ballet has a goal to strengthen and deepen the impact of our services on youth and families. Objectives include college assistance for high school students, academic tutoring for at least 190 Santa Ana students, free family education seminars, and assistance for Santa Ana families in need of crisis intervention and/or referrals to other community resources. A typical student in our Year -Round Programs is from a family of five living on an average income of $2,759/month; 90% qualify as low-income and participate free of charge. Funds will be utilized to cover a portion of the salaries of program staff positions: Student Coordinator and Academic Coordinator.
