CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT <br />Scope of Work <br />Program Year: 2004-2005 <br />Annual Accomplishment Goal <br />I. Total number of clients anticipated to be served during the 12-month contract period = 52 <br />Persons <br />IL Total number of unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served with grant funds during the 12- <br />month contract period = 52 Persons 100% Santa Ana clients <br />III. Description of Work: <br />The Vietnamese Community of Orange County plans to continue our Southeast Asian <br />Youth Gang & Crime Prevention/ hitervention Program services to the residents of Santa Ana. <br />The program has been active for over six years with many successful outcome and benefit to the <br />community. This program would include bringing youth counseling services to at -risk and <br />probation youth at local Santa Ana schools, alternative schools, and Orange County juvenile <br />detention camps. The primary goal of the program is to prevent the number of Southeast Asian <br />youth from further gang involvement, to reduce the recidivism rate of SEA repeated incarcerated <br />offenders, and to increase parental understanding and communication with children in the SEA <br />community. Our target populations are low-income Southeast Asian youth age 12 through 18 <br />years old. Each client would receive a minimum of four to eight crime intervention workshops <br />and counseling. The staffs will work with parent educators to assist them in holding workshops <br />for the parents of the at -risk youth. These workshops help parents to understand their child more <br />and the new community and culture that they are in. Our youth counselor will continue to work <br />with the Orange County Probation Department to accept referral for counseling services to youth <br />on probation and with minor offense.
