The CONTRACTOR shall obtain at its own cost, prior to commencing work on the contract and <br />maintain for the period covered by the contract a policy of liability insurance naming the <br />CONTRACTOR, his employees, the CITY, its officers and employees as insured. Refer to <br />Section 7 -3 of the AGC /AWPA Standard Specifications for details. <br />The coverage shall provide the minimum limits: <br />Bodily injury $1,000,000 each occurrence <br />Property Damage $1,000,000 each occurrence <br />Policies or certificates of insurance shall be filed with CITY and shall include CITY as an <br />additional insured. The policy or policies shall be in the usual form of public liability insurance <br />and the following requirements apply to the insurance to be provided by CONTRACTOR <br />pursuant to this section: <br />(i) CONTRACTOR shall maintain all insurance required above in full force <br />and effect for the entire period covered by this Agreement. <br />(ii) Certificates of insurance shall be furnished to the CITY upon execution of <br />this Agreement and shall be approved in form by the City Attorney. <br />(iii) Certificates and policies shall state that the policies shall not be canceled <br />or reduced in coverage or changed in any other material aspect without <br />thirty (30) days prior written notice to the CITY. <br />(iv) The policy must state that such coverage is primary to any other coverage <br />or self - insurance of the CITY. <br />(v) Solely as respects work done by and on behalf of the named insured for <br />the City of Santa Ana, it is agreed that the City of Santa Ana and its <br />officers and employees are added as additional insured under this policy. <br />(vi) The policies shall not be canceled unless thirty (30) days' prior written <br />notification of intended cancellation has been given to CITY by certified <br />or registered mail. <br />22. BONDS. CONTRACTOR shall furnish, concurrently with the execution of this <br />Agreement, with a surety bond in an amount equal to one full year's compensation to <br />CONTRACTOR as security for the faithful performance of the Agreement and a surety bond in <br />that same amount as security for the payment of all persons performing labor and furnishing <br />materials in connection with this Agreement. Both bonds shall be subscribed by a corporate <br />surety which is authorized to transact surety insurance business in the State of California. <br />Should any bond or surety become insufficient, CONTRACTOR shall furnish CITY a new bond <br />within ten (10) days after receiving notice from CITY. No payments will be due or paid under <br />the Agreement until any and all bond deficiencies have been remedied. <br />A. CONTRACTOR or the employees of CONTRACTOR may be subject to the <br />provisions of the California Political Reform Act of 1974 (the "Act "), which (1) requires such <br />persons to discloses financial interests that may foreseeable be materially affected by the work <br />performed under this Agreement, and (2) prohibits such persons from making, or participating in <br />
