Approve an appropriation adjustment recognizing $75,803 in revenues <br />awarded to the City of Santa Ana on behalf of the Santa Ana W/O/R/K <br />Center by the County of Orange Housing and Community Services Agency. <br /> <br />2. Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager <br />and the Clerk of the Council to execute an Amendment to the Agreement <br />with the County of Orange to administer Phase II of the National <br />Emergency Grant. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />On February 19, 2004, the County of Orange, on behalf of the Orange County <br />Workforce Investment Board, approved a National Emergency Grant (NEG) Cost <br />Reimbursement grant to the Santa Ana W/O/R/K Center for $192,281. The <br />$192,281 was the first of several allocations that, when fully funded, <br />will total $470,000. The County of Orange has now issued an amendment to <br />the NEG Grant for $75,803 and to extend the term of the contract through <br />September 30, 2005. <br /> <br />This amendment will allow the W/O/R/K Center to continue to provide <br />services to employees of the technology industry who are affected by <br />layoffs and downsizing. Services include job search activities, <br />counseling, assessment, training and supporti ve services. Staff <br />anticipates serving an additional 25 participants in the technology <br />industry. <br /> <br />25G-1 <br /> <br />
