<br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />CITY COUNCil MEETING DATE: <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCil USE ONLY: <br /> <br />DECEMBER 20, 2004 <br /> <br />TITLE: <br />PAYMENT TO SOUTHERN <br />CALIFORNIA EDISON FOR <br />:INSTALLATION OF NEW STREET <br />LIGHTS <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />D As Recommended <br />D As Amended <br />D Ordinance on 151 Reading <br />D Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />D Implementing Resolution <br />D Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />.-/ FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Authorize two payments to Southern California Edison in the amount of <br />$30,961.16 for the installation of new street lights located on Main <br />Street from Sunflower to Warner, and $11,953.56 for new street lights on <br />Memory Lane from the Santa Ana River to Bristol. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />Under Rule 20A funding with Southern California Edison for the <br />construction of Underground Utility Districts, the construction of new <br />street lights are not eligible for payment. New street lights were <br />required with Underground Utility District No. 36, Main Street from <br />Sunflower to Warner, and Underground Utility District No. 34, Memory Lane <br />from the Santa Ana River to Bristol Street. <br /> <br />These new street lights will be paid from the respective street surfacing <br />projects within the project limits. The costs requested by SCE are <br />reasonable and in line with Public Works Agency staff's estimate. <br /> <br />ENV:IRONMENTAL :IMPACT <br /> <br />In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the <br />recommended action is not considered a CEQA project. Therefore, no <br />environmental documentation is required. <br /> <br />298-1 <br />
