MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />July 1, 1974 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 2:08 P.M. in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Hall, 22 Civic Center Plaza, with the <br />following Councilmen present: J. Ogden Markel, John Garthe, <br />Harry K. Yamamoto, James E. Ward, Lorin Griset, and Vice <br />Mayor Vernon S. Evans. Mayor Jerry M. Patterson was absent <br />on City business in Washington, D.C. Also present were City <br />Manager Bruce C. Spragg, City Attorney James A. Withers, <br />Director of Planning Charles C. Zimmerman, Director of Public <br />Works Ronald Wolford, and Clerk of the Council Florence I. <br />Malone. <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />INVOCATION <br /> <br />by Councilman Yamamoto. <br /> <br />(CA 80.17) <br /> <br />Following the Pledge <br />of Allegiance led by <br />Vice Mayor Evans, the <br />Invocation was given <br /> <br />MINUTES APPROVAL The Minutes of the <br /> Regular Meeting of <br /> June 17, Adjourned <br /> Regular Meetings of <br />June 19 and June 20, 1974, were unanimously approved on <br />motion of Councilman Yamamoto, seconded by Councilman Evans. <br /> <br />HOUSING AUTHORITY At 2:10 P.M., Council <br />COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY recessed to convene <br /> the Annual Meeting of <br /> The Housing Authority. <br />At 2:35 P.M., the Housing Authority adjourned, and the Chair- <br />man immediately convened the Community Redevelopment Agency. <br />After roll call, the Chairman recessed the meeting to 4:00 <br />P.M. for the Annual Meeting of the Agency. Council reconvened <br />at 2:37 P.M. with the same Councilmen present. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR The following Agenda <br /> items were removed <br /> from the Consent <br /> Calendar: Items 4, <br />7 A, 1S, iS A, and iS B requested by Councilman Markel; Items <br />5 A, $ C, ? A, 7 B, and 15 requested by Councilman Yamamoto; <br />Item 14 requested by Councilman Garthe; Item 8 D added by <br />Vice Mayor Evans with the recommendation that it be approved <br />subject to applicable Code and administrative regulations. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Ward, seconded by Councilman Yamamoto, <br />and unanimously carried (6-0), Council affirmed the recom- <br />mended action on the following Consent Calendar items: <br /> <br />BID AWARDS <br /> <br />lowest, best and most <br /> <br />responsible <br /> <br />Awarded annual require- <br />ment contracts as fol- <br />lows, on the basis of <br />bidder: <br /> <br />SPEC. 745-111 - Asbestos Cement Pipe. <br />Awarded to Allied Pipe & Supply, Santa Ana. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />231 JULY 1, 1974 <br /> <br /> <br />
