Mr. Tom McMichael, 610 West 17th Street, stated that the real- tors are very much opposed to the imposition of a property transfer tax and are prepared to mount a campaign against it if it is given serious consideration by Council. The Council consensus was that imposition of a property transfer tax was still a possibility; Councilman Markel took the opposite point of view. Councilman Ward expressed his concern over loss of the Council Contingency Fund, $370,000, (Operating Item No. 2, Page 214).
