Award a contract to Engineered Plumbing, Inc., . the lowest responsible <br />bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices for an estimated amount of <br />$460,300. <br /> <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost of <br />$575,500. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />This proj ect involves the construction of new water main and <br />appurtenances in the vicinity of Wilshire Avenue in the Mid-City <br />Neighborhood (Exhibit I). Work encompasses the construction of new water <br />mains, valves, fire hydrants, and water services. Once completed, this <br />project will eliminate water main breaks and leaks associated with older <br />and deteriorated water mains. In addition, it will enhance water service <br />capacity and provide fire protection to the surrounding neighborhoods. <br /> <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on October 29 and November 1, <br />2004, and bids were opened on November 20, 2004.
