<br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br /> <br />JANUARY 18, 2005 <br />TITLE: <br />MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH <br />THE SANTA ANA MANAGEMENT <br />ASSOCIATION <br /> <br />.,.1 <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />0 As Recommended <br />0 As Amended <br />0 Ordinance on 1 st Reading <br />0 Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />0 Implementing Resolution <br />0 Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />~¡/~- <br /> <br />ITY MANAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare, and authorize the City Manager and <br />Clerk of the Council to execute a Memorandum of Agreement with the Santa <br />Ana Management Association regarding wages, hours and other terms and <br />conditions of employment. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The City and the Santa Ana Management Association (SAMA) recently completed <br />contract negotiations, resulting in a four-year Memorandum of Agreement. <br />This new Memorandum of Understanding will expire on June 30, 2008. <br /> <br />Key elements of this Memorandum of Agreement include: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Term: A four-year term, from July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2008. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Salary Increase: July 1, 2004 = 0% <br /> Jul y 1, 2005 = 0% <br /> July 1, 2006 = Up to 4.5% with a minimum increase <br /> of 3.5% <br /> July 1, 2007 = Up to 4.5% with a minimum increase <br /> of 3.5% <br /> <br />3 . <br /> <br />Medical Premium Contributions: Effective February 1, 2005 and for the <br />remainder of the agreement, the City's medical contribution will be <br />equal to the CalPERA Other Southern California monthly Health <br />Maintenance Organization (HMO) rates for Kaiser Permanente. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />Dental Premium Contributions: <br /> <br />January 1, 2005 = $70/month <br />rate) <br />January 1, 2006 = $80/month <br />January 1, 2007 = $90/month <br /> <br />( current <br /> <br />25F-1 <br />
