Total number of clients anticipated to serve daring the 12 -month contract period= 150 <br />PERSONS <br />II. Total number of unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served with grant funds during the <br />12 -month contract period = A5 _ 50PERSONS <br />III. Description of Work - in space below, describe the program to be funded during the 12. <br />month contract period including, services to be provided, program goals, client <br />characteristics, & how grant funds will be utilized, <br />CDBG funding for 2004-2005 will be used to provide scholarships for <br />talented and gifted low income youths who reside in Santa Ana. <br />Scholarships include the following: extra curricular musical training <br />under the direction of qualified staff members; will provide each <br />member with a band uniform plus any alterations and dry cleaning; <br />marching shoes and gloves; will provide non -solo type instruments <br />such as tubas, baritones, French horns, and percussion; will supply <br />all sheet music used throughout the year; will provide transportation <br />to and from all performances during our regular season; will provide <br />meals when traveling for those that cannot afford to purchase their <br />own; and, when overnight stays are involved, the funding covers their <br />expenses. Our program goals are numerous. They include building and <br />strengthening self confidence in skills and maturation; in peer <br />development and understanding; in defining and practicing tolerance; <br />and, above all, developing personal pride through performance and <br />achievement.
