PERSONNEL BOARD Councilman Markel moved <br />RESIGNATION that Irene C. Phillips <br /> be notified that the <br /> City Council accepts <br />her resignation from the Personnel Board with regrets; that <br />the Council receive and file her letter dated March 10, 1975. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilman Garthe, and unanimously <br />carried (6-0). CA S0.8 <br /> <br />PETITION - TRAFFIC SIGNAL It was moved by Council- <br />FAIRVIEW ~ SEGERSTROM man Griset, seconded <br /> by Councilman Ward, <br /> and unanimously carried <br />(6-0) that the petition (100 signatures) filed by Microsemi- <br />conductor Corporation for a traffic signal be referred to <br />staff for investigation and report. <br /> <br />Councilman Ward requested that the report also include an <br />update on all similar recent requests for traffic signal <br />installation. CA 18,3 <br /> <br />APPEAL WEED ~ Councilman Garthe <br />RUBBISH ABATEMENT seconded Councilman <br />1001 NORTH PARTON ST. Griset's motion to <br /> table the appeal <br />filed by Joseph Geier, and the motion was unanimously <br />approved (6-0), based on a follow-up letter from ~r, Geier <br />received by the Clerk of the Council on March 14, 1975, <br />withdrawing his previous request. CA 87 <br /> CA 11 <br /> <br />FEDERAL FUNDS The Council unanimously <br />SANTA ANA UNIFIED (6-0) approved tko <br />SCHOOL DISTRICT motion of Councilman <br /> Griset, seconded by <br />Councilman Yamamoto to receive and file tko memorandum <br />dated March 10, 1975 from the Human Relations Commission, <br />transmitting its Resolution in support of pederal subsidies <br />for educational programs in the Santa Ana Unified Sckool <br />District. The consensus of the Council was tkat it did <br />not wish to advise the Sckool Board regarding administra- <br />tive problems. CA 58 <br /> <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT Councilman ~rd moved <br />PLAN - HUMAN RELATIONS to receive and file <br />COMMISSION the memorandum from <br /> the Human Relations <br />Commission dated March 10 regarding implementatiQn of the <br />Community Development Plan. Councilman Griset seconded tke <br />motion which was unanimously carried [6-0). Mr. Manuel <br />Barton, Chairman of the Commission's Housing and Urban <br />Development Committee was present and stated tkat tills <br />memorandum represented the consensus of tke entire Commis~, <br />sion and that they believed that communication could he <br />improved between the Commission, the staff, and the Council, <br /> <br />Mayor Evans stated that changes made in the Community, <br />Development Plan did not deliberately ignore tko recommenda~ <br />tions of the Human Relations Commission, but w~re necessary <br />to meet a filing deadline, and included some recommendations <br />from all the participating City Boards and Commissions, <br /> <br />Councilman Griset wanted communication problems to be solved, <br />and suggested the Commission use staff as a valuable inferma~ <br />tional resource. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />106 <br /> <br />MARCH 17, 1975 <br /> <br /> <br />
