That the Fire Department be authorized to purchase <br />one fully equipped paramedic van and one paramedic <br />van equipped only with radio; the fully equipped van <br />to be put into service as soon as there are suffi- <br />cient trained men to do so; a skeleton equipped van <br />to be utilized as a back-up unit to the existing <br />van; and <br /> <br />That the method of funding be determined at the <br />same time as the Crime Abatement Program is <br />funded· <br /> <br />CA 64.2 <br /> <br />RECESS <br /> <br />9:40 P.M. with all members present. <br /> <br />At 9:50 P.M. the <br />Council declared <br />a recess; Council <br />reconvened at <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING Mayor Garthe re- <br />REVISED VEHICLES FOR HIRE quested that the <br />ORDINANCE NS-1257 public hearing on <br /> ORDINANCE N~1257 <br />be continued to the Council meeting scheduled for May 5, <br />at 7:50 P.M., in order to provide additional time for the <br />taxicab companies to review the recent revisions to the <br />ordinance. <br /> <br />The public hearing on ORDINANCE NS-1257 was continued to <br />May 5, on the unanimously approved motion of Councilman <br />Yamamoto, seconded by Councilman Evans. <br /> <br />CA 26 <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION Mayor Garthe was <br />SCAG directed to write <br /> a letter to the <br /> Southern California <br />Association of Governments recommending the appointment of <br />Councilman Brandt as the City's representative to the <br />Transportation Committee, on the unanimously approved <br />motion of Councilman Ward, seconded by Councilman Yamamoto. <br /> CA 141 <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION Mr. Tom McMichael, <br />FEDERAL fi STATE COURT 610 West 17th Street, <br />SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE was appointed as <br /> the City Council <br />Special Liaison Representative for the purpose of acquir- <br />ing the Federal Court Building in Santa Ana, as well as <br />any other additional facilities that might be explered <br />during the course of the appointment, on the unanimously, <br />approved motion of Councilman Bricken, seconded by Councll- <br />man Evans. The motion further provided that Mr. McMichael's <br />transportation and incidental expenses would be reimbursed <br />from the Council's Transportation and Travel account, Number <br />11-111-221.
