MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br /> OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />April 29, 1975 <br /> <br />A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Santa Aha <br />was convened by Mayor John Garthe at S:0S P.M., in Room 831 <br />City Hall, 20 Civic Center Plaza. The Clerk of the Council <br />reported that proper notice had been mailed and posted, with <br />affidavits on file. The following Councilmen responded to <br />roll call: Harry K. Yamamoto, Vernon S. Evans, James E. <br />Ward, David L. Brandt, and Mayor John Garthe. Councilman <br />David F. Ortiz arrived at 5:15 P.M., and Councilman Gordon <br />Bricken arrived at 6:07 P.M. Also prpsent were City Manager <br />Bruce C. Spragg, Acting City Attorney Charles Liberto, Direc- <br />tor of Public Works Ronald Wolford, Police Chief Raymond <br />Davis; Tom Blackman, representing Great Western Reclamation <br />Company; Steven Smith, reporter for the "Los Angeles Times"; <br />and Clerk of the Council Florence I. Malone. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> <br />to the trash strike. <br /> <br />Mayor Garthe declared <br />a recess at 5:10 P.M. <br />to consider legal <br />matters pertaining <br /> <br />Responding to a question from Mr. Smith, the Acting City <br />Attorney stated that an Executive Session is in order for <br />Council to receive advice and information in confidence <br />without dissemination to the public, which is actually in <br />the public's best interest, if the strike can be resolved. <br /> <br />Mr. Smith was provided a copy of the City Manager's Trash <br />Strike Status Report dated April 28, 1975, and Mr. Smith <br />was excused as the Council proceeded with the Executive <br />Session. CA 11.1 <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT The meeting reconvened <br /> at 6:15 P.M. with all <br /> Councilmen present, <br /> and was immediately <br />adjourned on the unanimously approved motion of Councilman <br />Ward, seconded by Councilman Yamamoto. <br /> <br /> ~B~ICE I.
