The City Council acting <br />4IÞ:s the Santa Ana Housing Authority operates a low-income, leased housing <br />program under Section 23 of the Housing Act of 1937, as amended. Operation <br />,Of this type of pr~gram o~fers the City the f0110Wi~9 advantages: <br /> <br />a. It allev1ates, 1n part, the need for low-1ncome housing in <br />Santa Ana. <br /> <br />b. Housing is leased from property owners by the City and then <br />sub-leased to individual families, but the leased property remains on the <br />tax rolls. <br /> <br />c. The low-income housing may be dispersed throughout the City <br />rather than congregated in specific areas. <br /> <br />d. Item 291: Rents paid to owners of 100 units of leased housing. <br />Item 361: Materials and supplies for grounds maintenance of 100 <br />units of housing at an average of $1.50 per unit per month. <br />~ Item 911: Operating reserves as required by the U.S. Department of <br />"'Housing and Urban Development. <br /> <br />&E <br />
