'.' <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />ANNUAL MEETING OF THE <br />HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />July 3, 1972 <br /> <br />The Annual Meeting of the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Ana. was <br />called to order by Chairman Jerry M. Patterson at 4:00 P.M., in the <br />City Hall Annex, 530 North Ros s Street, Santa Ana. <br /> <br />The following members of the Authority responded to the roll call: <br /> <br />Vernon S. Evans <br />Lorin Griset <br />Wade Herrin <br /> <br />Ray Villa <br />Harry K. Yamamoto <br />Jerry M. Patterson <br /> <br />There were also present by invitation the following: <br /> <br />Bruce C. Spragg, Secretary Pro Tem <br />Robert Portillo, Assistant to the City Manager <br />for Community Relations <br />James A. Withers, City Attorney <br />Florence I. Malone, Recording Secretary <br />Sandi Mosley, Reporter <br /> <br />SECRETARY PRO TEM REPORT <br /> <br />Mr. Spragg introdu"ed Mr'. Portillo, <br />who reported that during a telephone <br />conversation on Wednesday, June 28, the <br />local Housing and Urban Development representative had advised that the, City's <br />application under the Section 23 Leased Housing Program had been approved for <br />100 units and that written confirmation would follow in the mail. <br /> <br />AFFIRMATION OF <br />ELECTED OFFICERS <br /> <br />Affirmation of the election of Chairman <br />and Vice Chairman as voted at the <br />Organizational Meeting held on May 1, <br />1972, was moved by Commissioner Griset, seconded by Commissioner Yamamoto. <br /> <br />Commissioner Villa asked Vice Chairman Evans if he were willing to continue <br />to serve as an officer of the Authority and if he were committed to it. Mr. <br />Evans replied that he would not support the Authority in principle or philosophy, <br />but that he would serve on the Authority and act as Vice Chairman. <br /> <br />Following further discussion of the subject, Councilman Villa moved to amend <br />the motion to oppose the affirmation of Mr. Evans I election on May 1 as Vice <br />Chairman of the Authority.
