M., at the City Hall Annex, 530 North Ròss St,eet, <br />Santa Ana. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Jerry M. Patterson. <br /> <br />The following members of the Commission responded to the roll call: <br /> <br />Vernon S. Evans <br />Lorin Griset <br />Wade Herrin <br /> <br />Ray Villa <br />Harry K. Yamamoto <br />Jerry M. Patterson <br /> <br />There were also present by invitation the following: <br /> <br />Bruce Spragg, Secretary Pro Tem <br />James A. Withers, City Attorney <br />Florence I. Malone, Recording Secretary <br />Sandi Mosley, Reporter <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 72-12 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HOUSING <br />AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING AND', <br />DIRECTING SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FOR A LOW-RENT HOUSING <br />PROGRAM was adopted on motion of Commissioner Villa, seconded by <br />Commissioner Yamamoto and carried with Commissioners Evans and Herrin <br />dissenting. <br /> <br />"IT- <br /> <br />Prior to the vote on the motion, the Secretary Pro-Tem reported that the applica- <br />tion approved by the Department of Housing and Urban Development for 100 low- <br />rent leased housing units was still being processed; and that this application for <br />150 additional dwelling units proposed by Resolution 72-12 was initiated subsequent <br />to receiving information that additional funds were now available which might make <br />it possible to provide the 150 units which had been deleted from the original <br />application for 250 units. <br /> <br />Commissioner Herrin suggested that it might be advisable to proceed with the <br />processing of the 100 unit allocation to find out what the results might be before <br />applying for the additional units. . <br /> <br />Commissioners Yamamoto, Griset and Chairman Patterson disagreed with <br />Commissioner Herrin's proposal stating that delaying the application might result <br />in loss of the additional units altogether; that 250 was the number of units originally <br />proposed; and that the Authority exercises control over the management of the <br />program which will insure leasing to and maintaining responsible tenants in the <br />leased units. <br />
