Yamamoto, in the Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza, <br />Santa Ana. Malone, Recording Secretary <br />Representatives of the Press <br /> <br />The full reading of the <br />Minutes of December 16, <br />1974 meeting was waived <br />and they were approved as mailed, on the unanimously carried (7-0) <br />motion of Commissioner Evans, seconded by Commissioner Ward. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />BILLS AND COMMUNICATIONS <br /> <br />REPORT OF DIRECTOR <br />SENIOR CITIZENS HOUSING <br /> <br />Nothing to report. <br /> <br />The Executive Director <br />introduced the President <br />of National Housing <br />Consultants, Inc., Mr. <br />Charles L. Peters, and stated that staff was tentatively recommending <br />selection of the firm to the Authority for approval and recommendation <br />to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for the develop- <br />ment and construction of 200 units for the Senior Citizens Housing <br />Project, located at Birch, Ross and Second Streets, in the downtown <br />Redevelopment Project Area. <br /> <br />Mr. Peters introduced Mr. Peter Kamnitzer, AlP, following a brief <br />recapitulation of his firm's activities in related areas. <br /> <br />Mr. Kamnitzer, using artist renderings, described the proposed <br />development and identified the other members of the Project Team, <br />the architectural firm of Kamnitzer, Marks, Lappin and Vreeland <br />(KMLV) , Beverly Hills, and the contractor, Gallegos Company of <br />Santa Ana. <br /> <br />He stated that senior citizens would have a choice of four different <br />apartments in a combined high-rise and low-rise structure. <br /> <br />Richard Goblirsch, Executive Director of the Redevelopment Agency, <br />stated that the Agency's role would be to deliver the site to the <br />developer for $800 a unit, or a total of $160,000. He recommended <br />that the housing be a private development, remaining on the tax <br />roles, as opposed to non-profit. <br />
