<br />. <br /> <br />t <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />May 25, 1976 <br /> <br />The Special Meeting of the Housing Authority of the City of <br />Santa Ana was called to order at 5:40 P.M., by Chairman Harry <br />K. Yamamoto, in the Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza, <br />Santa Ana. The following members of the Authority responded <br />to the roll call: <br /> <br />Present <br /> <br />Absent <br /> <br />Gordon Bricken <br />David F. Orti z <br />John Garthe <br />Vernon S. Evans <br />David L. Brandt <br />Harry K. Yamamoto, <br /> <br />James E. Ward <br /> <br />Chai rman <br /> <br />The following persons were also present: <br /> <br />Manuel Rede, Executive Director-Secretary <br />Keith L. Gow, City Attorney <br />Bruce C. Spragg, City Manager <br />Florence I. Malone, Recording Secretary <br />Representative of the Press <br /> <br />Shapell Government <br />Housing/Goldrich, <br />Kest and Associates, <br />a joint venture, <br />were approved as the developer building, operating and managing <br />the Section 8, 200 housing units of proposed new construction <br />between Ross and Flower Streets and First and Third Streets <br />in the Redevelopment Project Area, with the intent of subsequently <br />entering into an Annual Contributions Contract with the Depart- <br />ment of Housing and Urban Development and a Housing Assistance <br />Payment Contract with the developer, on motion of Commissioner <br />Bricken, seconded by Commissioner Ortiz and carried on the <br />following roll call vote: <br /> <br />HOUSING CONSTRUCTION <br />PROPOSALS DEVELOPER <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />Bricken, Ortiz, Yamamoto, Garthe, Evans, Brandt <br /> <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Ward <br /> <br />The Authority's action was based on a report from the Executive <br />Director, dated May 19, 1976, describing the Project and sum- <br />marizing the proposals received; on the recommendation of the <br />Community Redevelopment Commission, on May 24, 1976; and on the <br />action of the Community Redevelopment Agency in selecting Shapell <br />Government Housing, et. al., as the developer for the housing <br />units, on May 25, 1976. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT The meeting was <br />adjourned at 5:42 P.M., <br />on the unanimously <br />approved motion of Commissioner Brandt, seconde by Commissioner <br />Ortiz. <br /> <br />dk~ 52. ~ <br />FLORENCE I.
