<br />The Adjourned Regular Meeting of the Housing Authority <br />City of Santa Ana was called to order at 2:10 P.M., by <br />David F. Ortiz, in the City Council Chambers, 22 Civic <br />Santa Ana. Malone, Recording Secretary <br />Representatives of the Press <br /> <br />The report dated <br />September 14, 1977, <br />prepared by Peter A. <br />Grams, recommending <br />approval for submittal <br />of a request to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for <br />an additional 100 Section 8 (Existing Housing) Unit Allocation for <br />Redevelopment Area relocatees, which was continued from the September <br />19 meeting, was discussed by Council along with the status report <br />dated September 26, 1977, prepared by Manuel Rede. Mr. Rede <br />reported that HUD cannot honor a Housing Authority request for units <br />to be "set aside" exclusively for the purpose of serving Redevelop- <br />ment relocatees; however, that HUD would consider a request from <br />the Authority for 100 additional units that could be given to families <br />displaced through governmental action; and that in the meantime the <br />Housing Authority can continue to serve the needs of the Redevelopment <br />Agency from units presently allocated to the Authority. <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />ADDITIONAL HOUSING <br />UNIT ALLOCATION REQUEST <br />RECEIVED AND FILED <br /> <br />Commissioner Bricken's motion, seconded by Commissioner Yamamoto <br />to approve submittal of a request to HUD for an additional 100 <br />Section 8 (Existing Housing) Unit Allocation failed to carryon the <br />.~ following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />NOES <br /> <br />Bricken <br />Yamamoto <br />Ortiz <br /> <br />Ward <br />Brandt <br />Garthe <br />Evans <br /> <br />The reports dated September 14 and September 26, 1977, were received <br />and filed by unanimous informal agreement. <br />
