PUBLIC HEARING - ASSESSMENTS Mayor Garthe announced <br />WEED ABATEMENT PROGRAM that this was the time <br />CONFIRMED; RES. ?6-94 ADOPTED and place for the public <br /> hearing of the Report <br />dated July 26, 1976 of the Director of Public Works containing <br />a list of the properties identified by Assessor's Parcel <br />Numbers and the cleaning cost for each parcel. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works John Stevens stated that this is <br />the annual hearing that concludes the spring weed abatement <br />program; that 1,202 parcels were posted for weed abatement, <br />property owners were asked to abate weeds, rubbish or <br />garbage ~nemselves; that 155 of those parcels were cleaned <br />by City crews at a cost of $20,881.72, or an average cost <br />per parcel of $155; that the charge to the property owner <br />includes not only cleaning but costs such as posting, clerical, <br />postage, printing, inspections and office administration; and <br />that Staff requests Council affirmation of the 1976 Spring <br />Weed Abatement Report. <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council reported that no written communications <br />had been received. No speakers appeared before Council to <br />protest the assessments for cost of weed abatement; the Mayor <br />closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />On the unanimously carried (4:0) motion of Councilman Yamamoto, <br />seconded by Councilman Bricken, the following resolution was <br />adopted: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 76-94 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA OVERRULING <br />OBJECTIONS TO AND CONFIRMING THE REPORT OF THE <br />DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS PERTAINING TO THE COSTS <br />OF WEED, RUBBISH AND GARBAGE ABATEMENT; MAKING, <br />CONFIRMING, AND LEVYING ASSESSMENTS FOR SUCH <br />COSTS; AND ORDERING A COPY THEREOF TO BE FILED <br />WITH THE COUNTY AUDITOR, ASSESSOR AND TAX COLLECTOR. <br /> <br />CA 11 <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR HEARING RE Following a Staff report <br />WEED ABATEMENT - WARREN ROGERS that Mr. Rogers, 2729 <br />DELETED FROM AGENDA South Poplar, was satis- <br /> fied with the resolution <br />of the subject matter, and in the absence of Mr. Rogers at <br />this meeting, the matter was deleted from the Agenda, on the <br />motion of Councilman Yamamoto, seconded by Councilman Ortiz, <br />and unanimously carried (4:0).
