CRIMINAL JUSTICE A request dated <br />SYSTEM REFORM August 17, 1976, from <br />REFERRED the City of Commerce, <br /> asking for a statement <br />of support of reform of the Criminal Justice System was <br />referred to Staff for report and recommendation on the motion <br />of Councilman Evans, seconded by Councilman Ward, and carried <br />unanimously (6:0). CA 113 <br /> <br />PARAMEDIC PROPOSALS - COUNTY In response to the <br />POSITION AGAINST COUNTY-WIDE request dated <br />SERVICE TAX AREA August 16, 1976, from <br /> the Ad Hoc Paramedics <br />Committee of the Orange County League of Cities, a policy <br />in opposition to the establishment of a County-wide service <br />tax area for paramedic service was affirmed, on the motion <br />of Councilman Brandt, seconded by Councilman Evans and <br />carried (6:0) unanimously. CA 148.1 <br /> CA 64.2 <br /> <br />Councilman Brandt stated that service to all County residents <br />is being provided under the present system, and Councilman <br />Evans expressed disapproval of the proposed makeup of the <br />governing board for the special taxing district. <br /> <br />EASEMENT FOR STREET PURPOSES The request of Hall & <br />TRACT 9046 Foreman, Inc. dated <br />REFERRED August 30, 1976, for <br /> City acquisition by <br />condemnation of a five foot easement from the Santa Ana <br />Unified School District for use as a street~ and bicycle trail <br />in connection with the development of Tract 9046 was referred <br />to Staff for report and recommendation on the unanimously <br />approved (6:0) motion of Councilman Evans, seconded by Council- <br />man Brandt. CA 71 <br /> <br />PARKING AT MUNICIPAL STADIUM As recommended in the <br />COUNCIL REFERRAL ITEM NO. 17-76 Assistant City Manager's <br />APPROVED; DELETED report dated July 15, <br /> 1976, a policy of free <br />parking in the Civic Center parking lots for municipal stadium <br />events during evening, weekend and holiday periods was affirmed <br />and Council Referral Item No. 17-76 was deleted on the motion <br />of Councilman Evans, seconded by Councilman Ward and carried <br />(6:0) unanimously. CA 52.8 <br /> CA 77.5 <br /> <br />GOLDEN CITY AWARDS PROGRAM The Golden City Awards <br />APPROPRIATION ADJUSTMENT #5 Program as outlined by <br />APPROVED Public Information <br /> Officer, Frank Blaszcak, <br />was approved, and Appropriation Adjustment #5 transferring <br />$960 from Council Contingency to implement the Program was <br />approved on the motion of Councilman Evans, seconded by <br />Councilman Brandt, and carried (5:1), with Councilman Ortiz <br />dissenting.
