The Center provides <br />various recreational activities, presentations, and special events for <br />the community. Due to high pedestrian traffic, the doors leading into <br />the basketball courts have deteriorated severely and, as a result, the <br />door alarm sensors no longer operate. The installation of damage <br />resistant doors, which are built to withstand high pedestrian traffic, <br />will reduce maintenance costs and will allow the building alarm system <br />to function properly. <br /> <br />,. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on January 10 and 12, 2005, and <br />bids were solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received <br />is as follows: <br /> <br />17 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />2 Invitations For Bid mailed to Santa Ana vendors <br />3 Bids received <br />1 Bid received from a Santa Ana vendor <br /> <br />Bids were received, opened on January 18, 2005, and evaluated (Exhibit <br />1).
