<br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />MARCH 7, 2005 <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />TITLE: <br /> <br />AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT <br />A-2004-053 WITH ACCO <br />ENGINEERED SYSTEMS, INC. <br /> <br />o As Recommended <br />o As Amended <br />o Ordinance on 151 Reading <br />o Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />o Implementing Resolution <br />o Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />\~ <br />. <br /> <br />1/ /.'./1'/'7.. <br />///( ,'/ <br />~L (""t..~/ // .Ut;.< Cl-_ <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Amend the agreement with ACCO Engineered Systems, Inc. for maintenance and <br />repair of air conditioning and heating systems by $25,000 for a total <br />amount not to exceed $90,000. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />In April 2004, the City of Santa Ana entered into agreements with ACCO <br />Engineered Systems, Inc. and Aramark, Inc. for preventive maintenance and <br />repairs of air conditioning and heating systems at various City buildings. <br />These facilities include the Police Administration and Holding Facility, <br />the City Hall building and annex, Library, and Fire stations. The <br />contract includes general preventive maintenance service as well as <br />providing emergency repairs as necessary. <br /> <br />During the past year, the City incurred additional equipment repair costs <br />for refrigeration equipment and boiler repairs at the Police Facility. In <br />addition, there was an unforeseen replacement of a compressor, the <br />installation of a duct box, and repairs to the blast freezer.
