CA 46 <br /> <br />GREYHOUND BUS LINES City Attorney Keith <br />SETTLEMENT AUTHORIZED Gow was authorized to <br /> execute, on behalf <br /> of the City, an agree- <br />ment to provide for the settlement of the dispute with Grey- <br />hound Bus Lines in consideration of the City's immediately <br />assumin~ Greyhound's obligation under their lease of the <br />premises on Seventeenth Street at Poinsettia and payment to <br />Greyhound in the total sum of $47,500 in return for and in <br />consideration therefor, and, in addition, Greyhound would <br />agree to exert its best efforts on behalf of the City to <br />terminate the lease arrangement with Texaco including what- <br />ever contact might be necessary at the corporate level to <br />bring this matter to a conclusion~ on the motion of Council- <br />man Bricken~ seconded by Councilman Yamamoto, and carried <br />6:1, with Councilman Evans dissenting. <br /> <br />Mickey Madden stated that the northeast homeowners were grate- <br />ful for Council's decision, and that the money spent was very <br />little compared to the potential harm of having a bus station <br />in the neighborhood.
