MINUTES OF THE REGULAR & ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br /> OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />May 16, 1977 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 2:00 P.M. in the Council <br />Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza, by the Assistant Clerk of the <br />Council in the absence of the Mayor and Vice Mayor. There was <br />no response to the roll call of the Council, and the Assistant <br />Clerk adjourned the meeting until a quorum of Councilmen was <br />present at 2:37 P.M. Ail persons present in the Chambers were <br />notified that the meeting would be delayed for a short time. <br /> <br />The adjourned meeting was called to order at 2:37 P.M. in <br />the City Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza, by Mayor <br />Vernon S. Evans. The following Council members were present: <br />Gordon Bricken, David F. Ortiz, Harry K. Yamamoto, and Mayor <br />Evans. Councilmen John Garthe, David L. Brandt, and James <br />E. Ward were absent. Staff members present were City Manager <br />Bruce C. Spragg, Assistant City Attorney Edward J. Cooper, <br />Assistant City Manager Ronald Wolford, Director of Public <br />Works John E. Stevens, Planning Director Charles C. Zimmerman, <br />and Clerk of the Council Florence I. Malone. <br /> <br />INVOCATION <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />Bricken. <br /> <br />Following the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag, <br />the Invocation was given <br />by Councilman Gordon <br /> <br />RECESS <br />HOUSING AUTHORITY <br /> <br />Council reconvened at <br />present. <br /> <br /> At 2:38 P.M. Council <br /> recessed to convene the <br /> regular meeting of the <br />Housing Authority; <br />2:39 P.M. with the same Council members <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />ITEMS REMOVED <br /> <br />Bricken; Items 5A, 5F, 5G, <br />by Miles Leach, 2025 West <br /> <br />7D, and 12 <br />10th Street. <br /> <br />The following items were <br />removed from the Consent <br />Calendar: Items 5B, 5C, <br />and 7C by Councilman <br />by Mayor Evans; Item 2A <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />the recommendations of Staff on <br />items: <br /> <br />the <br /> <br /> On the unanimously approved <br /> motion of Councilman Yama- <br /> moto, seconded by Council- <br /> man Ortiz, Council approved <br />following Consent Calendar <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />Approved the Minutes of the Regu- <br />lar Meetings of April 18 and <br />April 26, 1977. <br /> <br />BID CALLS <br /> <br />Approved plans and specifications <br />and authorized advertisement for <br />bids on the following: <br /> <br />PROJECT 7085 - Installation of power factor correction <br />at Cambridge, Walnut and Bristol well pumping stations. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 157 MAY 16, 1977 <br /> <br /> <br />
