MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />May 24, 1977 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Vernon S. Evans at <br />5:05 P.M. in the City Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza. <br />The following Council members were present: Gordon Bricken, <br />David F. Ortiz, Harry K. Yamamoto, John Garthe, David L. <br />Brandt, James E. Ward, and Mayor Evans. Also present were <br />the following members of Staff: City Manager Bruce C. Spragg, <br />City Attorney Keith L. Gow, Assistant City Manager Ronald <br />Wolford, Director of Public Works John Stevens, Planning <br />Director Charles C. Zimmerman, Police Chief Raymond C. Davis, <br />and Clerk of the Council Florence I. Malone. <br /> <br />INVOCATION <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />Mayor James E. Ward. <br /> <br />Following the Pledge <br />of Allegiance to the <br />Flag, the Invocation <br />was given by Vice <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING The public hearing <br />CONDEMNATION - PROPERTY BETWEEN to consider condemnation <br />RIVERVIEW HOSPITAL & SANTA ANA RIVER of property described as <br />CONTINUED a portion of Lot 11, <br /> Tract 6744, lying between <br />Riverview Hospital and the Santa Ana River (owned by Mr. and <br />Mrs. Lebovits) to provide access to Tract 9631, was continued <br />to June 6, 1977 at ?:30 P.M., as requested by the owners of the <br />property, on the unanimously approved 7:0 motion of Councilman <br />Garthe, seconded by Councilman Yamamoto. CA ?1 <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR The following items <br />ITEMS REMOVED & were removed from the <br />DISSENTING VOTES Consent Calendar: Item <br /> 12 B requested by <br />Councilman Yamamoto; Item 12 F requested by Mayor Evans for <br />Mr. Douglas Dyer; Item 12 A by Councilman Brandt; Items 2 A, <br />5 A, and ? B requested by Councilman Ward. NO votes were <br />registered by Mayor Evans on Items 5 D and 5 E, and by Coun- <br />cilman Ward on Item 3 B; Councilman Bricken abstained on <br />Items 5 B, 5 C, and 7 A; Councilman Ward abstained on Item 12 <br /> <br />FJ <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR On the unanimously <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS approved 7:0 motion <br />APPROVED of Councilman Bricken, <br /> seconded by Councilman <br />Ward, Council approved the recommendations of Staff on the <br />following Consent Calendar Items: <br /> <br />BID CALLS <br />following: <br /> <br />Approved plans and specifica- <br />tions and authorized adver- <br />tisement for bids on the <br /> <br />SPEC 77-019 - One sub-compact automobile for Police <br />Department. <br /> <br />SPEC 77-021 - Provide and install block restroom <br />partitions at Heritage, Centennial, Rosita and <br />Prentice Parks. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 167 MAY 24, 1977 <br /> <br /> <br />
