ORAL COMMUNICATION <br />CITY HALL ELEVATORS <br />BRAILLE SYSTEM SYMBOLS <br />REPORT REQUESTED <br /> <br />installation of Braille <br />each floor of the <br />Agenda for action. <br /> <br /> Councilman Brandt requested <br /> that the report he had <br /> received from the Executive <br /> Director for Administra- <br /> tive Services, regarding <br /> System Symbols near the elevators on <br />City Hall, be carried on the July 18 Council <br /> <br />Councilman Ward also requested a status report on the City's <br />compliance with requirements for handicapped access and use. <br /> CA <br /> <br />77 <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION The Reverend Lewter <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT 77-8 of the First Mission <br />DAY CARE CENTER AT 1825 W 3RD Baptist Church, requested <br /> Council to reconsider its <br />action taken earlier to set Conditional Use Permit 77-8 for <br />public hearing on July 18, 1977. He stated that only a few <br />neighbors were opposed to the proposal for Day Care Center <br />operation by the church; that CBTA funding was available; and <br />that the Planning Commission had approved the Conditional Use <br />Permit. <br /> <br />Councilman Garthe stated that the matter was of concern and <br />interest to the community, and for that reason he had moved to <br />have the public hearing on July 18. <br /> <br />The Reverend Lewter stated that the real issue in the community <br />was the outstanding growth experienced by the church, which has <br />resulted in increased activity on Sunday as well as week days. <br /> CA 13.1 <br /> <br />SANTA ANA NIGHT AT THE Mayor Evans presented <br />LIONETTES - PROCLAMATION Mr. Ed Goldstein, Presi- <br />PRESENTED dent of the Santa Aha <br /> Lionettes, with a <br />Proclamation entitled "Santa Ana Night at the Lionettes", and <br />encouraged all citizens and Santa Ana employees to attend the <br />Lionettes game at the Santa Ana Bowl on July 15 at 7:00 P.M. <br /> CA 46 <br /> <br />RECESS <br /> <br />personnel matters, and reconvened at <br />was an immediate recess for dinner. <br />7:30 P.M., with Mayor Evans absent. <br />the evening meeting. <br /> <br />Council recessed at 3:45 <br />P.M. for an Executive <br />Session to discuss pend- <br />ing litigation and <br />5:15 P.M., whereupon there <br />Council reconvened at <br />Vice Mayor Ward conducted <br /> <br />INVOCATION <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />St. Joseph's Catholic Church. <br /> <br />Following the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag, <br />the Invocation was given <br />by Father Bernard Gannon, <br /> <br />CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION <br />RICHARD VOGL <br />PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> <br />nition of his service to the <br />Board. <br /> <br />City as <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Ward presented <br /> the Certificate of <br /> Appreciation prepared <br /> for Richard Vogl in recog- <br />a member of the Personnel <br /> CA 50.8 <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />236 <br /> <br />JULY 5, 1977 <br /> <br /> <br />
