CENTENNIAL PARK A report dated February 27, <br />PHASE I SCHEDULE 1978 prepared by Robert <br />FILED E. Gresham, Director of <br /> Recreation and Parks, <br />establishing a revised Phase I Schedule for the development of <br />Centennial Park showing a starting date of January 15, 1979 <br />and a six month construction period to end on July 16, 1979 <br />was received and filed on the unanimously carried 4:0 motion <br />of Councilman Yamamoto, seconded by Councilman Bricken. CA 52 <br /> CA 112.16 <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION Councilman David Ortiz <br />REDEVELPMENT AGENCY COMPLAINT stated that he had received <br />REFERRED TO STAFF a letter dated March 1, <br /> 1978 from Ralph G. Allen, <br />Allen and Miller, 1606 Bush, containing a complaint concerning <br />the Redevelopment Agency Staff's response to a downtown building <br />proposal; Councilman Yamamoto stated that he had also received <br />a copy and had answered tho letter; and requested a Staff report. <br />Councilman Ortiz moved to refer the letter to Staff for a report <br />to Council; the motion was seconded by Councilman Yamamoto, <br />and carried 4:0 unanimously. CA 82A <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION Councilman Bricken stated <br />COUNCIL CHAMBERS SOUND SYSTEM that the Council Chambers <br />REFERRED TO STAFF Sound System is not func- <br /> tioning as well as it should <br />because the system is not designed properly to accomplish its <br />pBrpose, and he requested that something be done to solve the <br />problem. Mayor Evans referred the matter to Staff for resolution. <br /> CA 77A <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION Dennis Morris of Whitmore <br />FIFTH STREET IMPROVEMENTS Homes, asked the status <br /> of the City's Project 2041 <br /> that had called for street <br />improvements on West Fifth Street between Euclid and Newhope <br />to be made in May 1978, which would coincide with his townhouse <br />development in that same area. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works John Stevens stated that the Project <br />bids had come in far above department estimates, and that the <br />City will reduce the scope of the Project to the budgeted funding <br />level, in the hope of receiving bids and awarding a contract <br />in April. CA 29.4 <br /> <br />Mr. Morris offered to work with the City on the Project as it <br />pertains to the streets adjoining his company's proposed Tract <br />10016 development. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT At 2:15 P.M. on the <br /> unanimously approved 4:0 <br /> motion of Councilman <br /> Bricken, seconded by <br />Councilman Yamamoto, the meeting was adjourned to March 13, <br />1978 at 2:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers. <br /> <br /> FLO~NCEI.~LON~ <br /> <br />tB~DRENCE I.
