ORAL COMMUNICATION Mrs. Boer continued her <br />BUSSES ON FLOWER STREET comments by pointing out <br /> that many bus drivers <br /> serving Flower Street <br />between Sixth and Eighth Streets pull away from the bus stop <br />without signaling and also make left turns without signaling; <br />and that she feels that a traffic hazard exists in the area <br />because of those discourteous bus drivers. Councilmen encour- <br />aged Mrs. Boer to take her suggestions directly to the Orange <br />County Transit District, which employs the drivers. CA 151.1 <br /> <br />RECESS <br /> <br />Councilmen present <br /> <br /> At 4:25 P.M. the meeting <br /> was recessed for dinner; <br /> at 7:30 P.M. the meeting <br /> was reconvened with all <br />except Councilman Brandt and Mayor Evans. <br /> <br />INVOCATION <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />Following the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag, <br />the Invocation was given <br />by Councilman Yamamoto. <br /> <br />OATH OF OFFICE Vice Mayor Ward announced <br />PERSONNEL BOARD MEMBER that newly-appointed <br />JACQUELINE SPANLEY Personnel Board member <br /> Jacqueline Spanley was <br />present at the meeting to take the oath of office; Clerk of <br />the Council Florence Malone administered the oath after which <br />Councilmen individually welcomed Mrs. Spanley to City service. <br /> CA 50.8 <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING - A.A. #783 Vice Mayor Ward announced <br />GLENWOOD PLACE & FLOWER STREET that this was the time and <br />ORDINANCE NS-1420 - 1ST READING place for the public <br /> hearing of Negative <br />Declaration and Amendment Application 783 to rezone property <br />located on the northwest corner of Glenwood Place and Flower <br />Street from the C1 (Community Commercial) to the Ri (Single <br />Family Residential) District. <br /> <br />Planning Director Charles Zimmerman stated that the subject <br />property comprises 19,120 square feet and can be subdivided into <br />three Ri parcels with one lot on Flower Street and two on Glen- <br />wood; that a community meeting was held with eight persons <br />attending; that there was no objection to the rezoning, either <br />at the community meeting or at the public hearing held by the <br />Planning Commission; that the recommended rezoning is in con- <br />formance with the General Plan and was unanimously recommended <br />by the Planning Commission for approval. <br /> <br />There being no speakers on the subject, Vice Mayor Ward closed <br />the public hearing. <br /> <br />On the motion of Councilman Yamamoto, seconded by Councilman <br />Bricken, carried S:0 unanimously, the Negative Declaration was <br />approved and filed, and the following ordinance was placed on <br />first reading: <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. NS-1420 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA <br />ANA APPROVING AMENDMENT APPLICATION NO. 783 TO REZONE <br />PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2026 SOUTH FLOWER STREET FROM THE C1 <br />(COMMUNITY COMMERCIAL) DISTRICT TO THE Ri (SINGLE FAMILY <br />RESIDENCE) DISTRICT AND AMENDING SECTIONAL DISTRICT MAP <br />NO. 24-5-10.
