ORAL COMMUNICATION Helen Lynch, 1915 West <br />COMPLAINT RE MINORITY POLICE McFadden, stated that she <br />OFFICERS - REFERRED TO STAFF would like to have a report <br /> regarding the dismissal <br />of four minority Police Service Officers and Police Officers; <br />she expressed the opinion that minority officers are needed <br />because they have the ability to communicate and relate with <br />people of various ethnic origins; and that these officers were <br />victimized by unfair employment practices. On the motion of <br />Councilman Ortiz, seconded by Councilman Bricken, carried 6:0 <br />unanimously, the Staff was requested to prepare a report for <br />presentation to Council on June 19, 1978 concerning former Police <br />Department employees: David J. Howard, George A. Spencer, <br />Santiago Naranjo and Robert Cato.
