The public hearing was scheduled for August 21 at <br />7:30 P.M. CA 14 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 78-97 <br />CALIFORNIA COUNCIL ON <br />CRIMINAL JUSTICE <br />PLANNING REGIONS <br />TABLED <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA RECOMMENDING <br />THAT THE CALIFORNIA <br />COUNCIL ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE <br />CONTINUE WITH THE PRESENT <br /> <br />TWENTY-ONE REGIONS AND THAT NO FURTHER REGIONS BE AUTHORIZED was <br />tabled on the motion of Councilman Bricken, seconded by Council- <br />man Ortiz and carried 5:1, with Councilman Yamamoto dissenting. <br />Adoption of the Resolution had been requested by Mr. Keith L. <br />Concannon, Executive Officer of the Orange County Criminal <br />Justice Council, in his letter dated July 14~ 1978. CA 112.6 <br /> <br />BUDGET EXCHANGE The elimination of one <br />PERSONNEL/RECREATION & PARKS Power Mower Operator as a <br />APPROVED budgeted position for the <br /> fiscal year 1978-79, in <br />favor of the retention of a Grounds Maintenance Man I in the <br />Recreation and Park Department was approved on the motion of <br />Councilman Bricken, seconded by Councilman Garthe and carried <br />6:0 unanimously. Recreation and Park Director, Robert E. Gresham, <br />in his report dated July 18, 1978, stated that the recent resigna- <br />tion of one Power Mower Operator would allow the retention of one <br />Grounds Maintenance Man I while still maintaining the 15% budget <br />reduction requested by Council. CA 6SB <br /> <br />BOWERS MUSEUM EXPANSION On the motion of Councilman <br />PURCHASE OF PROPERTY Brandt, seconded by Council- <br />APPROVED man Garthe, and carried 4:2 <br /> with Councilmen Ward and <br />Ortiz dissenting, pruchase of properties located at 201-203½ West <br />20th Street and at 205 West 20th Street, was approved and the <br />Mayor authorized to sign all the necessary documents in connec- <br />tion with the purchases. <br /> <br />The staff report date July 19, 1978, prepared by Manuel A. Rede, <br />Deputy City Manager, states that the property at 201-203½ West <br />20th Street will be purchased for $135,000 ($67,500 to be <br />reimbursed by County General Revenue Sharing funds) and the <br />property at 205 West 20th Street will cost approximately $90,000 <br />($32,500 to be reimbursed by County General Revenue Sharing <br />funds). Gresham, <br />Director of Recreation and <br />Parks dated June 17, 1978, <br />the hiring freeze was <br /> <br />lifted for the hiring of Facilities Supervisor on the motion of <br />Councilman Bricken, seconded by Councilman Brandt, carried 4:2 <br />with Councilmen Yamamoto and Ortiz dissenting; and the hiring <br />freeze was also lifted for the hiring of a Zoo Attendant on the <br />motion of Councilman Bricken, seconded by Councilman Brandt, <br />carried 5:1 with Councilman Yamamoto dissenting.
